I recently attended The Special Event 2011 in Phoenix and led a session with Lindsay Fultz of Grosh Backdrops on using social media to build your events business brand. Lindsey Rosenthal of Events For Good, was a HUGE help getting our WiFi going, tweeting & moderating tweets during the session and being our #1 cheerleader in the first row.
Paul Cook may be best known to social media savvy events pros as the guy behind the event planner resource, Planet Planit. But Paul got started in the industry, as an insurance provider. His company, Clarity Event Insurance is known among his clients for making a complicated subject understandable.
Question: Now that you can get reviews on just about anything via the internet why should you believe anything any company has to say about their own services?
I admit it. When I served as a stage manager for the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala for the first time 4 years ago, I was nervous. Escorting celebrities from their table in the front of the house to a spot backstage; answering their questions and making sure they have whatever they need all while never taking your eye off of them until they get off the stage, is a high pressure gig. You don't want to be the one to anger a big name, much less your producer or director.
The 22nd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala took place last Saturday, Jan. 8 2011 and as usual it was a spectacle to behold. Such luminaries as Natalie Portman, Robert Duvall and Helen Mirren came out to present and receive awards and campaign for a shot at an Oscar.
